The image recording principle of the Imaging Plate (IP) is based on photo stimulable luminescence of the phosphor on it. There is a phenomenon of the recorded signal intensity fading between electron exposure and EP reading. In the present study, the fading characteristic was measured for a calibration of the read-out intensity in a quantitative analysis using the IP. According to the results, the fading characteristic is independent of the electron exposure level; therefore, a recorded image on the IP has a relative quantification capability. Also, by using the fading correction, it is possible to measure the absolute intensity.
