The imaging plate (IP) developed for the transmission electron microscope was used for the quantitative measurements of an optical diffraction pattern by laser beam illumination. By comparison of the calculated results based on the optical diffraction theory with the measured intensities recorded on the IP, the availability of IP as recording media for the optical diffractogram by a laser beam was ascertained.

Keywords     imaging plate (IP), optical diffraction, quantitative measurement
